Terms of Service for GroupIt

Zero Plus Plus Studios · Last updated 2 October 2026 · zeroplusplusstudios@gmail.com

These terms are the agreement between you and Zero Plus Plus Studios ("we", "us") for using GroupIt (the "app"), on a phone or in a web browser. By downloading or playing the app you agree to them; if you do not agree, please do not use it. Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under the consumer law of the country you live in, and where that law protects you more than these terms do, that law applies.

The app

GroupIt is a single-player logic puzzle game. It is free to download and free to play, and it needs no account. Every board can be solved without paying, and every rule mode, colour theme and hint the game sells can also be reached with gems you earn by playing.

The versions you install from the App Store or Google Play may offer optional in-app purchases, and an optional video advert that you can choose to watch in return for gems. The version that plays in a web browser has neither. Most of the game works without an internet connection; buying, restoring purchases, watching an advert and syncing your progress need one.

Your licence to use it

We give you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to install and use the app on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial entertainment. We may end it only if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, decompile, redistribute or sell the app or any part of it, except where the law gives you a right to do so that cannot be excluded.

If you got the app from Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to your copy. If you got it from Google Play, Google Play's terms of service also apply. Where either conflicts with these terms, the store's terms win.

Gems

Gems are the game's currency. You earn them by finishing new boards on the ladder, in free play, on the daily board and on the endless shelf, with bigger and harder boards and three-star finishes paying more, and, where it is offered, by choosing to watch an advert. Practice boards, samples, replays and boards shared with you pay nothing. You can also buy gems. You spend them on hints, rule modes and colour themes.

Gems are part of the game, not money. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money or for anything outside the game, and cannot be transferred to another person. What you have is a licence to use them in the game.

We may change how many gems a board or an advert pays, and what things cost in gems, to keep the game balanced. A change to what things pay or cost never takes away gems you already have, or a mode or colour theme you have already opened.

Your gems are kept on your device, and travel with your progress as described in the Privacy Policy. Erase all progress in Settings does not remove them. If they are lost in another way, for example by uninstalling the app without a backup, clearing its data or losing your phone, we cannot restore them, because we hold no copy of your save.

Purchases

In-app purchases are optional. They are made through the App Store or Google Play, under that store's terms and at the price the store shows you for your country before you confirm. The store takes the payment; we never see your card or payment details.

Gem packs add gems to your balance once each time you buy one, and can be bought again. They are not brought back by Restore purchases.

Unlocks (All modes, Unlimited hints and Everything) are bought once and belong to the store account that bought them. If one goes missing, for example on a new phone or after reinstalling, tap Restore purchases in Settings and the store will bring it back.

A tip buys nothing in the game. It is a way of saying thank you, and it unlocks and grants nothing.

Purchases are delivered as soon as the store confirms them. Your right to cancel a purchase, or to get a refund, is set by the store's terms and by the law where you live, and nothing here reduces it.

On an iPhone, Apple decides refunds; ask through https://reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, ask Google Play through your order history, or write to us, because we can refund a Google Play order ourselves. If something you paid for did not arrive, try Restore purchases first, then write to us with the store's order number and we will help.

If you are under 18, or under the age of majority where you live, ask a parent or guardian before buying anything. Parents can require approval for purchases, or switch them off, in the phone's own settings: Screen Time on an iPhone, and purchase authentication or Family Link on Android.

Adverts

Where the app offers it, you can choose to watch a short video advert in return for gems. Nothing in the game makes you watch one: no advert plays between boards, in front of a board, or anywhere you have not tapped to ask for one.

Adverts are supplied by Unity's advertising service and the advertising companies it works with, not by us, and we do not choose what an individual advert shows. An advert may link to other apps or websites, which are not ours and have their own terms. The gems are paid when the advertising service reports the reward as earned; there is a daily limit, and the limit and the reward may change. If an advert fails to load or finish, nothing is taken from you. How adverts use your data, and the choices you have, are explained in the Privacy Policy.

Changes and availability

The game changes over time. We may add, change or remove boards, modes, features and prices, and in the installed versions we may switch the shop or the adverts on or off; the app reads a small settings file of ours to know which, as the Privacy Policy explains. Switching the shop or the adverts off never removes gems you have or anything you have unlocked. If a change ever makes something you paid money for worse, we will say so in the app beforehand, and any right the law gives you to a refund or another remedy is not affected.

Nothing you have earned or unlocked depends on a server of ours. If our settings file stops being available, the shop and the advert switch themselves off and the rest of the game keeps working; shared board links open on our website, so they work for as long as it is there. If we ever stop offering the app, what you have already unlocked keeps working in the copy installed on your device, for as long as that copy runs on it.

Fair play

Do not use the app in any unlawful way, and do not try to interfere with or gain unauthorised access to the app, to the services it uses, or to any device or system it runs on. Do not modify the app, or use tools that tamper with it, to obtain gems, rewards or unlocks you have not earned or paid for. Boards you share are links that anyone can open; do not use them to send anything unlawful or abusive.

Intellectual property

The app, including its name, artwork, audio, code, puzzles and design, belongs to Zero Plus Plus Studios and is protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. These terms do not transfer any of it to you.

Disclaimer of warranties

The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows them to be excluded. We do not promise that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every device. If something you paid for is faulty, your legal rights are not affected.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Zero Plus Plus Studios is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data or game progress, arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits a liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, and some places do not allow some of these exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Apple and Google

These terms are between you and us, not Apple or Google. We, not the store, are responsible for the app, its content, and for supporting it. Apple and Google have no obligation to provide support or maintenance for it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes, and the new terms apply from then on; when a change matters, we will also say so in the app or in the update's notes. A change never applies backwards to a purchase you made before it.
